Maharashtra Government Further Extends Deadline to Install HSRP Number Plates
Mumbai, August 14, 2025: Maharashtra Government has notified another extension in the deadline for installation of HSRP number plates for vehicles registered before 1 April 2019.
The deadline to install High Security Registration Number Plates (HSRP) has been now moved to November 30, 2025. The earlier deadline was getting over on August 15, 2025.
Vehicle owners should visit the transport department’s website http://transport.maharashtra.gov.in to book an appointment for installing High Security Registration Number (HSRP) plates by 30 November 2025.
Deputy Transport Commissioner Shailesh Kamat announed the extension in deadline on August 14, just a day prior to the expiry of the previous deadline. He also said that after this extension, no further extensions will be provided and after this, action will be taken by the flying squad as per the rules against vehicles without High Security Registration Number (HSRP) plates starting from 1 December 2025.
The government however said that, no action will be taken against vehicles that have secured an appointment for HSRP installation by 30 November 2025.
