Pimpri Chinchwad Police Urge Citizens to Use ‘Traffic Buddy’ WhatsApp Complaint System More Frequently to Report Traffic Violations

The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have urged citizens to use their WhatsApp-based complaint system, ‘Traffic Buddy’, more frequently. This initiative is a part of their digital-first traffic management drive.
The chatbot is available at 87886 49885 and it facilitate reporting of traffic violations without the need to download any separate app. All you have to do is send a simple “Hi” or “Hello” to start the complaint. Every complaint is acknowledged, forwarded to the concerned unit, and updates are shared with the complainant until the matter is addressed.
Police officials explained that ‘Traffic Buddy’ makes it easier for citizens to send evidence-backed reports, which are automatically documented and reviewed by a dedicated team at the Traffic Control Room.

We urge citizens to use our WhatsApp ChatBot 'Traffic Buddy' in good numbers by simply dropping a 'Hi' on 87886 49885. It allows citizens to send evidence-backed reports of traffic violations to us, which are auto-documented… https://t.co/BKHvXjnByt pic.twitter.com/O9aqKUBiYB
Even though Traffic Buddy is easy to use, the response so far has been limited. Since its launch, only 1,201 messages have been received. Authorities are now urging more people to come forward and use the service.
The police believe greater utilization of the service will help control traffic violations and ensure smoother commutes across Pimpri Chinchwad. According to them, this initiative highlights their focus on transparency, efficiency, and public collaboration in solving everyday civic problems.
