Pimpri Chinchwad Police Issue Challan to Their Own Staffer for Traffic Violation

Pune, August 23, 2025: In a rare occurrence, Pimpri Chinchwad Police have issued an e-challan to one of their own staff member for a traffic violation.
Sharing this on their social handle, the police spokesperson said, “Accountability first. On a citizen report of a traffic violation by our own team member, an e-challan has been issued yesterday. The law is equal for all.”
In an attached image, a police officer can be seen riding a motorcycle in uniform without wearing a helmet. A vigilant citizen clicked the image of this violation and uploaded on Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s traffic violation chatbot – ‘Traffic Buddy’. Responding to the complaint, the errant officer was issued an e-challan of Rs 1000 for not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler.

Pimpri Chinchwad Police urge citizens to actively use their WhatsApp chatbot – ‘Traffic Buddy’ to report traffic violations in areas under under the jurisdiction of Pimpri Chinchwad Police and has assured that the complaint will be acknowledged and the complainant will be updated about the action taken.
