Pune, August 24, 2025: District level authorities have acted decisively to reduce the long-standing traffic congestion at Navale Bridge on the Katraj-Dehuroad Bypass section of the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway (NH-48).

An important meeting was held at the PMRDA office in Aundh to review land acquisition for the construction of 12-meter-wide service roads on both sides of the bridge.

During the meeting, officials decided that funds for relocating MSEDCL’s underground cables will be provided by PMRDA. The NHAI approved the proposed land acquisition of 7,384 sq. m (covering about 615 meters in length), and district authorities have issued instruction for this process to be completed within the next three months.

The meeting also discussed the relocation of two water pipelines under the Pune Municipal Corporation’s water supply department. This work is expected to be completed within 15 days. Further, a decision was made to install the required traffic signal system immediately.

Once these jobs are finished, traffic congestion near Navale Bridge is expected to ease significantly, providing much-needed relief to daily commuters.

The meeting was attended by senior officials including Pune Municipal Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Additional Municipal Commissioner Deepak Singla, Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan, Joint Commissioner Himmat Kharadeya, and senior representatives from PMRDA, NHAI, Pune Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department, and the District Collector’s office.
